Over the 4th of July weekend thousands gathered at Western Gateway Park in Penn Valley for the annual Music in the Mountains event. Celebrating their 35th Anniversary, Music in the Mountains kicked off Independence Day with a patriotic salute to our country during the “Patriotic Pops” concert.
Described per their website as a “season finale tradition,” Patriotic Pops was once again sponsored by Network Real
Estate’s broker / owners Bill and Kathy Papola. A truly exciting addition to this year’s concert series was NCAOR President and Network Real Estate Associate Broker Greg Bulanti. Dressed as Uncle Sam, Greg conducted the MIM Festival Chorus and Orchestra through Sousa’s march “Stars and Stripes Forever.”
Greg and Dee Bulanti have been members of the MIM Alliance for at least five years. The Alliance is the fundraising arm of the MIM organization. When asked how he felt to play the part of Uncle Sam, Greg commented that he channeled founding member Paul Perry. Paul had conducted in costume for several years prior to his passing and Greg was honored to pick up the role.
“This event is so important to our community. It’s bringing classical music to the Sierra Foothills and, with over 3500 attendees, really bringing our community together,” Greg said. Just like Greg, Network Real Estate is proud to be a continuous sponsor and supporter of such an amazing event. It truly is events like this and volunteers like Greg that make Nevada County such a special place.
